[origin: EP0480550A1] A process and apparatus for producing spunbonded nonwovens from a melt extrudable material is proposed, in which the filaments are processed in sheet form essentially in parallel until the laying-down operation. They are subjected to a coupled mechanically aerodynamic drawing, the filament sheet being guided with as large a wrapping angle as possible over at least one pair of drawing rollers and being drawn off from the last roller via an air gap. In this case, the air gap is situated with its inlet directly in the vicinity of the separation point of the filament sheet from the last roller.
