The present invention relates to an apparatus for massage and relaxation in the horizontal, vertical or inclined position, or a combination of these various positions, comprising at least one massage member (3, 4) which is held in a frame (1) and against which the part of the body to be massaged bears, the apparatus being characterised in that each massage member (3, 4) comprises a set of rollers (15) which are mounted loosely, and independently of one another, on at least two secondary rotational axles (14) arranged in a spiral or prismatic, straight or oblique, cluster, revolving around a drive axle (16) which is moved in rotation by suitable means, such as a pedal mechanism (7) which allows the user himself/herself to supply the energy necessary for driving the massage members (3, 4) in rotation. Application to an apparatus for back massage and relaxation, of the type comprising a massage chair or bed. <IMAGE>

La présente invention concerne un appareil de massage et de relaxation, horizontal, vertical, incliné, ou combinant ces diverses positions, comprenant au moins un organe de massage (3,4), maintenu dans un cadre (1), et contre lequel la partie du corps à masser vient en appui, appareil caractérisé en ce que chaque organe de massage (3,4) comporte un ensemble de rouleaux (15) montés fous, indépendamment les uns des autres, sur au moins deux axes de rotation satellites (14) agencés en un faisceau spiralé ou prismatique, droit ou oblique, gravitant autour d'un axe d'entraînement (16) mû en rotation par des moyens appropriés, tels qu'un pédalier (7) permettant à l'utilisateur de fournir lui-même l'énergie nécessaire à l'entraînement en rotation des organes de massage (3,4). Application à un appareil de massage et de relaxation dorsale, du type d'un lit ou d'un fauteuil de massage. <IMAGE>
