Dye-image receiving element for use according to thermal dye sublimation transfer comprising a support having thereon a dye-image receiving layer containing a (co)polyester comprising condensation residues of one or more diols and one or more dicarboxylic acids wherein at least one of the said diols and/or said dicarboxylic acids contains not more than 5 carbon atoms in the main chain and contains a long chain alkyl or alkylene group having at least 6 carbon atoms in a side chain.
