[origin: EP0482443A1] The present invention relates to a braking agent for a gear-wheel. The aim of the invention is to brake the last wheel of a gear-train in order to prevent the latter rotating by unequal angular steps. <??>This aim is achieved with the aid of an element forming the brake (1) fixed on a first runner (gear) (2) of a gear-train so as to be driven in rotation by the latter, this element (1) having at its periphery a friction surface (39) bearing elastically on a second runner (gear) (6) engaging with the first, in order to brake this second runner (gear) (6). <??>The invention applies more particularly to watch-making gears and to chronographs. <IMAGE>
