[origin: EP0482570A2] The subject of the invention is a jaw having a compensating filling (3) and parallel-clamping supporting elements (5) for clamping a plurality of objects of unequal dimensions or a single object with a jointed surface, in particular for machining. The jaw according to the invention contains a body (1) whose hollow space, closed by a plate (2), contains a compensating filling (3). Pressure elements (4), mounted in recesses in the jaw body and connected to clamping supports (5), press on the compensating filling (3). The clamping supports project beyond the body (1) and can be replaced without difficulty by supports of different designs, e.g. flat, grooved, prismatic or special supports. <IMAGE>
