The invention relates to a method of controlled passivation of the inside walls of a carbon-steel cooling circulation system which is open to the air and/or closed, with an aqueous coolant circulating therein and containing alkali metal bicarbonate and alkaline earth metal bicarbonate, and to the use of this method for determining the passivation state of the metallic contact surfaces, for controlling the corrosion inhibition and for checking the quality of the coolant, especially water. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur kontrollierten Passivierung der Innenwände eines luftoffenen und/oder geschlossenen Kühlkreislaufsystems aus Kohlenstoffstahl mit einer darin zirkulierenden Alkali- und Erdalkalibicarbonat-haltigen wäßrigen Kühlflüssigkeit sowie die Anwendung dieses Verfahrens zur Bestimmung des Passivierungszustandes der metallischen Kontaktflächen, zur Steuerung der Korrosionsinhibierung und zur Prüfung der Qualität der Kühlflüssigkeit, insbesondere von Wasser. <IMAGE>
