[origin: EP0482970A1] The method according to the invention consists in ensuring that the missile is provided with lift wings (4) and that when launched from an aircraft in flight, the lift wings (4) are inclined in a transverse direction in such a way that the load factor (f) has a horizontal component (fy) resulting in a lateral displacement of the missile. In the case of a self-propelled missile which has to fly substantially horizontally at a speed (V), the lift wings (4) are then designed such that for the speed (V) the vertical component (fz) of the load factor (f) cancels the effect of gravity. Applications to the launching of decoy rockets and to off-aim firing. <IMAGE>
