Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0483020A1] The breathing gear is intended to protect the aircraft crew members during flight at high altitude and/or under a high load factor, requiring a breathing mask to be supplied with gas under a higher pressure than that of the surroundings. The gear comprises a mask mechanically linked to a helmet (10) equipped with an inflatable nape pouch (14) and regulator means (22) for supplying the mask with breathing gas under a pressure which is a function of the altitude and/or of the acceleration. The regulator means create in the nape pouch (14) of the helmet a pressure greater than that of the breathing gas supplied to the mask (12), at least when the supply pressure of the mask exceeds a predetermined threshold value. <IMAGE>
