[origin: WO9117679A1] Each link (1) has a main portion (2) of which the inner side has two semi-cylindrical recesses (4a, 4b) and of which one of the large sides has two semi-cylindrical extensions (5a, 5b) designed to fit into and rotate coaxially in the recesses (4a, 4b) of an adjacent link (1). A retaining element (7) has semi-cylindrical projections (9a, 9b) which fit into recesses (6a, 6b) in the side extensions (5a, 5b). All these semi-cylindrical parts (4a, 4b; 5a, 5b; 6a, 6b; 9a, 9b) are coaxial so that a certain amount of rotation is possible between adjacent links. A pin (3) provides the connection between these links by fastening each link (1) onto the retaining element (7) which co-operates with the extension (5a, 5b) of an adjacent link. This design avoids the need for the pivots which have heretofore been used.

Chaque maillon (1) présente une partie principale (2) présentant sur sa face intérieure deux logements semi-cylindriques (4a, 4b) et, sur l'un de ses grands côtés, deux extensions semi-cylindriques (5a, 5b) prévues pour s'engager et tourner coaxialement dans les logements (4a, 4b) d'un maillon (1) contigu. Une pièce de retenue (7) présente des saillies semi-cylindriques (9a, 9b) engagées dans des logements (6a, 6b) des extensions latérales (5a, 5b). Toutes ces parties semi-cylindriques (4a, 4b; 5a, 5b; 6a, 6b; 9a, 9b) sont coaxiales, pour permettre une certaine rotation entre maillons contigus. La liaison entre ces derniers est assurée par une goupille (3) solidarisant chaque maillon (1) avec la pièce de retenue (7) coopérant avec l'extension (5a, 5b) d'un maillon contigu. La construction permet d'éviter l'emploi de pivots classiques.
