Abstract (en)
A locking mechanism for preventing sliding movement between a slidably juxtaposed product container (1) and product container locking structure (2), and a separate decoupling unit (36). The decoupling unit has a frame (19) adapted to receive the slidably juxtaposed parts, and means (50) within the frame adapted to disengage the locking mechanism, thereby permitting sliding decoupling of the parts. The locking mechanism has a magnetically attractable pin (3) in a blind hole in the first part (1) and a detent opening or recess in the second part (2). Embodiment of the invention are a locking kit for a box (10) having a hinged lid (11), such as a video cassette box, and a locking kit for compact disc cassettes, preventing theft in the retail industry. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
