[origin: EP0484210A1] The invention relates to a high-frequency resonance or microwave applicator for the thermal treatment of a flat material (4). This applicator comprises a flat capacitor between whose plates the material moves, and a self-inductor which consists of a metal strip (10) transversely prolonging the plate acting as hot electrode. <??>The internal face of the plate (2) acting as earth electrode is divided into elementary segments (19) by a set of longitudinal slots (7). Preferably the same is true in respect of the internal faces of the plate (3) acting as hot electrode and of the self-inductor. <IMAGE>
