[origin: EP0484241A1] The antenna comprises, as in a plate antenna, a dielectric substrate (7b), a supply line (3b) earth plane (4b) arranged on one face of the substrate, and a radiating element arranged on another face of the substrate and coupled to the line by a coupling slot (5b) in the earth plane. The radiating element consists of several narrow conducting strips (8b) extending perpendicularly to the coupling slot (5b), so as to obtain virtually complete polarisation. Since such antennas have orthogonal polarisations they do not disturb one another and can be close to one another so as to constitute a compact dual-polarised array. <IMAGE>
