[origin: WO9101545A1] In a vector excitation source digital speech coder utilizing vector excitation, candidate excitation sources (111, 121) are considered independent of certain pitch parameters. Once a particular excitation source has been selected, the excluded pitch parameter may then be optimized, resulting in an overall improvement in speech quality.

Dans un codeur vocal numérique à source d'excitation vectorielle utilisant l'excitation vectorielle, les sources d'excitation candidates (111, 121) sont considérées indépendamment de certains paramètres de hauteur. Une fois que l'on a choisi une source d'excitation particulière, le paramètre de hauteur exclu peut être ensuite optimisé ce qui a pour résultat une amélioration globale de la qualité vocale.
