Abstract (en)
The device for injecting preheated air into a shaft furnace consists of a number of tubular members provided with a refractory lining, which are connected together by a spherical joint (94; 96) and a compensator. The spherical joints are made up of a convex ball formed in one segment and of a concave socket formed in the refractory of the adjacent segment. They comprise a protective sheath made of refractory steel extending around the convex part as far as the base of the ball. The radius of curvature of each spherical joint is of the order of magnitude of one half of the diameter of the tubular members. <IMAGE>

Le dispositif d'injection d'air préchauffé dans un four à cuve est constitué de plusieurs éléments tubulaires pourvus d'un revêtement réfractaire qui sont reliés, entre eux, par une articulation sphérique (94 ; 96) et un compensateur. Les articulations sphériques sont formées par une rotule convexe formée dans un segment et par une assiette concave formée dans le réfractaire du segment adjacent. Ils comportent une gaine de protection en acier réfractaire s'étendant autour de la partie convexe jusqu'à la base de la rotule. Le rayon de courbure de chaque articulation sphérique est de l'ordre de grandeur de la moitié du diamètre des éléments tubulaires. <IMAGE>
