[origin: US5173973A] A whirlpool bathtub with a wireless remote control comprising a mobile transmitter separate from the whirlpool installation and a receiver affixed to the bathtub for controlling the aspiration pump and/or the blower of the whirlpool installation. The receiver is affixed to the bathtub, independent of the installation or positioning of the bathtub in the bathroom, in accordance with this disclosure where the bathtub has an overflow device provided with a control knob and an overflow housing, for operating a drain device. The control knob is fixed against rotation on a hollow shaft which extends out of the overflow housing on the exterior of the bathtub. The control knob has a chamber, accessible to the control commands of a transmitter, into which the receiver is inserted. The connecting cable for the receiver is inserted through the hollow shaft and is connected to the receiver.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Whirlpool-Badewanne mit einer drahtlosen Fernsteuerung aus einem ortsveränderlichen, von der Whirlpoolanlage getrennten Sender und einem an der Badewanne angebrachten Empfänger zum Steuern der Ansaugpumpe und/oder der Gebläse der Whirlpoolanlage. Eine optisch ansprechende Anbringung des Empfängers an der Badewanne unabhängig vom Einbau und der Aufstellung der Badewanne im Badezimmer wird nach der Erfindung dadurch erhalten, daß die Badewanne (10) eine mit Drehknopf (38) versehene Überlaufgarnitur mit Überlaufgehäuse (12) zum Betätigen einer Ablaufgarnitur aufweist, daß der Drehknopf (38) auf einer Hohlwelle (16) drehfest angebracht ist, die auf der Badewannen-Außenseite aus dem Überlaufgehäuse (12) herausgeführt ist, daß der Drehknopf (38) eine für die Steuerbefehle des Senders zugängliche Kammer (40) aufweist, die den Empfänger (32) aufnimmt, und daß das Anschlußkabel (33) für den Empfänger (32) durch die Hohlwelle (16) eingeführt und mit dem Empfänger (32) verbunden ist. <IMAGE>
