For bracing and balancing the press tool holder and crank case in an upsetting press for reducing the width of rolling stock, in particular for reducing the width of slabs in hot wide strip roughing trains with tool holders which are arranged at both edges of the slab, receive press tools and can be moved in the direction of slab reduction with the aid of a crank drive, a device with the following features is proposed: a linkage mounted in articulated fashion and passed through the crank case 9 engages approximately centrally on the tool holder 8; two further, outer linkages 14, 14' mounted in articulated fashion on the crank case 9 at a distance from the central linkage 13 also engage, the central linkage 13 and the two outer linkages 14, 14' being connected to bracing devices 15, 16, 16' subjecting the linkages to tension; these bracing devices, for their part, are firmly connected to the crossbeam 17 of the housing uprights 6 of the upsetting stand 1. <IMAGE>

Zum Verspannen und Ausbalancieren von Preßwerkzeugträger und Kurbelgehäuse einer Stauchpresse zur Breitenreduktion von Walzgut, insbesondere zur Reduktion der Brammenbreite in Warmbreitband-Vorstraßen mit beidseitig zur Brammenkante angeordneten Preßwerkzeuge aufnehmenden Werkzeugträgern, welche mit Hilfe eines Kurbeltriebes in Richtung der Brammenreduktion bewegbar sind, wird eine Vorrichtung mit folgenden Merkmalen vorgeschlagen: An dem Werkzeugträger 8 greift ein gelenkig gelagertes, durch das Kurbelgehäuse 9 geführtes Gestänge 13 etwa mittig an; ferner greifen mit Abstand zu dem Mittengestänge 13 zwei weitere am Kurbelgehäuse 9 gelenkig gelagerte Außengestänge 14, 14' an, wobei das Mittengestänge 13 sowie die beiden Außengestänge 14, 14' mit die Gestänge auf Zug belastenden Spanneinrichtungen 15, 16, 16' verbunden sind; diese Spanneinrichtungen sind ihrerseits mit der Quertraverse 17 der Ständerholme 6 des Stauchgerüsts 1 fest verbunden <IMAGE>
