[origin: WO9102356A1] The aim of the invention is to enable the user to receive information concerning the tape position as quickly and as conveniently as possible, irrespective of the tape position, and to ensure rapid start from any desired tape position. After the cassette (5) is introduced, the tape position is detected automatically and the counter (4) is set to the absolute value of the tape position. Application in particular to VHS video recorders.

On cherche à obtenir que l'utilisateur, indépendamment de la position respective de la bande, reçoive une information la plus rapide et la plus pratique possible sur la position de la bande et qu'un redémarrage rapide soit possible à partir de la position de bande souhaitée. Après introduction de la cassette (5), la position respective de la bande est détectée automatiquement et le compteur (4) se règle sur la valeur absolue de cette position. Application notamment à des magnétoscopes VHS.
