[origin: EP0485818A1] The headlight has a lens (4) convex towards the light source (1). Said lens is constructed as a one-piece moulded part, and has in its central zone (5), which is closest to the light source (1), a collector lens structure (9). Consequently, a substantial portion of the light emitted from the light source (1) directly into a front solid angle can be collected in the direction of the headlight axis. The lens (4) can be produced as a simple moulded part. Provided outside on the lens (4) is a transparent ring (15) in a signalling colour. As a result, the scattered light is utilised for lateral marking when the headlight is used, for example, in a cycle lighting unit. <IMAGE>
