[origin: EP0485909A1] A device for compacting small liquid containers, in particular incorrectly filled beer cans or similar compressible items, comprises a substantially horizontal compressing chamber (2) which is provided with an upper feeding hopper (3) and with a liquid-collecting trough (17) arranged underneath its liquid-permeable base (2'), and on whose one end there is a lateral chamber (4) corresponding to the profile of said compressing chamber and housing a hydraulically operated pressing ram (5) which can be moved laterally in and out of the compressing chamber (2) and on whose other end opposite the first end there is an ejection pipe (14) which, for the purpose of forming a sufficient pressing resistance, is curved and tapers increasingly towards the end (14') of the pipe. <IMAGE>
