Bei der Herstellung eines strichförmigen Flüssigkeitsauftrags (4) auf einem Substrat (3), beispielsweise eines Falzhilfeflüssigkeitsauftrags und/oder eines Leimauftrags, läßt sich auf einfache Weise dadurch die Position des Flüssigkeitsauftrags überwachen und die Funktion des Auftragkopfes (6) kontrollieren, daß die Auftragflüssigkeit Pigmente enthält, die bei normalem Licht unsichtbar sind und, wenn sie zugeordneten Sichtbarmachungsmitteln ausgesetzt werden, sichtbar sind. <IMAGE>
