Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9119938A1] The headlight proposed has a reflector (10) in which a gas-discharge lamp (11) is mounted. Located in the path of the light beam reflected by the reflector is a lens (17) by means of which one edge (15) of a shutter (14), used as a bright-dark boundary, is imaged. The lens (17) is designed as a filter which partially absorbs light, in particularly blue and UV light, thus generating heat and colouring the transmitted light, and is fitted in a mounting (28) connected to the reflector (10). Attached to the mounting (28) is a ceramic plate (34) with a reference refraction point (39), an electrical conduction track (37) being disposed on the ceramic plate. The conduction track (37) is connected by signal lines (38) to an electrical control unit (19). If, as a result of a collision, the ceramic plate (34) impacts with the lens (17), the ceramic plate breaks and the conduction track (37) is cut, thus preventing the control unit (19) from operating the gas-discharge lamp (11).
