This apparatus includes a glazing station (5), in which the article (2) to be glazed is provided with a glaze coating automatically and uniformly even in cases where the article to be glazed is of a great depth or a bulged design. The glaze pot (13) carrying and holding the article (2) to be glazed is in this case swung out of a receiving position, in which the article to be glazed is set down on the glaze pot, through an angular range of about 180 DEG .
