[origin: WO9105153A1] It is known that, during special operating conditions, e.g. warming-up, acceleration, full-power conditions, the mixture setting is effected by a control system instead of lambda -adjustment. This may result in a lean mixture. The invention seeks to avoid this by ensuring that the lambda -adjustment remains in operation during the special operating conditions, within a restricted range. It is superimposed on the pilot control, and only takes effect in the direction of enrichment.
