[origin: EP0489986A1] A low voltage power circuit-breaker (1) with a contact arrangement (3) and a drive device (15) has at least one insulating coupling element (26) for connecting the drive device (15) and a movable contact unit (5) of the contact arrangement (3). An insulating screen (30) mounted on the coupling element (26) cooperates with a first insulating plate (31) and a second insulating plate (32), which in each case have a through opening (33) for the coupling element (26). The insulating plates (31, 32) and the insulating screen (30) produce a seal between a chamber, accommodating the contact arrangement (3), of the power circuit-breaker (1) and the drive device (15). The insulating plates consist of a thin, flexible insulating material and therefore do not hamper the movement of the drive device (15). The power circuit-breaker described is suitable for use with elevated nominal voltages and has dimensions which are not increased by comparison with previously customary power circuit-breakers for a lower nominal voltage. <IMAGE>
