[origin: EP0490008A1] Device for operating the bolt (49) of a lock, of the type comprising a key having an electrically conducting rod (1) and at least one bit (2, 3) and a lock having a keyhole (17). The lock has an electronic circuit (51) and an electrical means (25) for operating the bolt (49), the keyhole (17) has two or three rotating electrical contacts (18, 52), the key has the same number of electrical contacts as the keyhole (17), one at least being formed by the rod (1) or by the bit (2, 3) and having an electronic circuit (50) including a memory (15) which stores a number and a means (16) for encoding this number and the signals received from the lock.
