[origin: EP0490105A1] In a device for the image-inscription and erasure of a printing plate coated with ferroelectric material by polarisation or depolarisation, an electron beam from an electron gun is aimed directly in vacuo at the printing plate in order to polarise it at specified points. The electron gun can be driven by means of an information transfer unit. There is an erasure device for depolarising or repolarising the printing plate. <IMAGE>
