Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0490139A2] The load is, for example, a steel-strip coil; it encloses an approximately cylindrical hollow space which passes through it. The handling machine comprises a chassis (1), a main slide (7) supported on it and at least one lifting arm (10) supported on the main slide (7). The main slide (7) is displaceable in the horizontal direction. The lifting arm (10) is elongated, horizontal and parallel to the displacement direction of the main slide. The lifting arm (1) is displaceable in the vertical direction relative to the chassis (1) and/or the load is displaceable in the vertical direction relative to the ground. A horizontal rotary plate (5) is supported on the chassis (1) and is rotatable on it. The main slide (7) is supported on the rotary plate and is diametrically displaceable on it. In one end position of the main slide (7), the lifting arm (10) projects beyond the rotary plate (5); in the other end position it is retracted above the rotary plate (5). Swing-in and swing-out supports (12) can be arranged on a longitudinal side (11) of the chassis (1). An intermediate slide (14) can be supported on the rotary plate (5) and can be diametrically displaceable on it. The main slide (7) is then supported on the intermediate slide (14) and is displaceable on it. At least one support (17) can be arranged on each longitudinal side (16) of the intermediate slide (14). <IMAGE>
