The pivoting device has at least one pivoting arm (1) which is arranged on at least one support (2). There engages on the pivoting arm at least one brake (7, 9) which is ineffective when pivoted up and secures the pivoting arm (1) against pivoting back. When the pivoting arm (1) is pivoted down, the brake (7, 9) comes into operation so that the pivoting arm (1) cannot fall down unintentionally. As the brake (7, 9) is made inoperational when the pivoting arm (1) is pivoted up, only the dead weight of the pivoting arm (1) has to be pushed up, which even disabled persons can carry out easily. <IMAGE>

Die Schwenkvorrichtung hat mindestens einen Schwenkarm (1), der an wenigstens einem Träger (2) angeordnet ist. Am Schwenkarm greift mindestens eine beim Hochschwenken unwirksame und den Schwenkarm (1) gegen Zurückschwenken sichernde Bremse (7,9) an. Beim Herunterklappen des Schwenkarmes (1) kommt die Bremse (7,9) zum Einsatz, so daß der Schwenkarm (1) nicht unbeabsichtigt nach unten fallen kann. Da die Bremse (7,9) beim Hochklappen des Schwenkarmes (1) außer Wirkung gesetzt ist, muß nur das Eigengewicht des Schwenkarmes (1) nach oben gedrückt werden, was selbst behinderte Personen einfach durchführen können. <IMAGE>
