Abstract (en)
This underwater exploration apparatus comprises on the one hand a ballast reservoir (5), and on the other hand a shuttle (7), a sealed enclosure (10) of which contains the instrumentation for measuring, for control and for transmission of signals to a surface buoy, this enclosure being guided along a cable (1) fixed to the ballast reservoir. The enclosure (10) is equipped with a chamber (26), the lower opening of which is equipped with a trap (29). <??>When the shuttle is in the high position, a load of ballast is transferred from the reservoir (5) into the chamber (26), which brings about the descent of the shuttle. This load is released in the low position of the shuttle by opening the trap (29) in order to allow it to rise again. <??>Application to oceanographic studies. <IMAGE>

Cet appareil d'exploration sous-marine comprend d'une part un réservoir de lest (5), d'autre part une navette (7) dont une enceinte étanche (10) contient l'instrumentation de mesure, de commande et d'émission de signaux vers une bouée de surface, cette enceinte étant guidée le long d'un câble (1) fixé au réservoir de lest. L'enceinte (10) est munie d'une chambre (26) dont l'ouverture inférieure est équipée d'une trappe (29). Lorsque la navette est en position haute, une charge de lest est transférée du réservoir (5) dans la chambre (26), ce qui provoque la descente de la navette. Cette charge est larguée en position basse de la navette, par ouverture de la trappe (29), pour lui permettre de remonter. Application aux études océanographiques. <IMAGE>
