[origin: EP0490756A1] In order to produce, by spinning, a workpiece of a material which is non-malleable at room temperature, a heated mandrel (24) is used which is equipped on the inside with an electrical resistance element (46) surrounded by a diffuser (48). The heating temperature of the mandrel (24) is adjusted by a regulator (66) placed in a unit (26) which rotates with the mandrel. Advantageously, this temperature is equal to the forming temperature of the material in question, reduced by the temperature rise of this material due to the effect of the spinning. <IMAGE>
