[origin: EP0490868A1] A boxcar (1) for storing bulk material, with a chassis frame supported on rail travelling gear and a boxcar body (5) connected to this chassis frame, has a conveying device (7) located in its base area for transporting the bulk material in the longitudinal direction of the boxcar as well as a transfer conveyor belt (9) pivotably mounted on the chassis frame about a vertical axis and adjoining the base-side conveying device (7). This transfer conveyor belt (9) or a receiving area of the boxcar body (5), which receiving area is located in the longitudinal direction of the boxcar at the end of the boxcar (1) opposite the transfer conveyor belt, is equipped with a centring device (14) for the detachable connection of the free and projecting end of the transfer conveyor belt (9) to the receiving area of a further coupled boxcar (1). The centring device (14) is displaceably mounted transversely to the longitudinal direction of the boxcar (1) or the transfer conveyor belt (9) and is connected to a remote-control transverse-displacement drive (20). <IMAGE>
