[origin: WO9103603A1] Described is a device for inspecting the underside of bridges, with a lifting tower (8) which extends down over the edge of a bridge (1) and on which is mounted a work platform projecting under the bridge. The device has a wheeled chassis (3) on the bridge (1), with a support element (7) which is vertical in the working position and which is connected by arms (11, 12) to a guide member (13) on which the lifting tower is mounted so that it can be displaced along its longitudinal axis. The arms (11, 12) are hinged in the horizontal plane to the support element (7) and to the guide member (13), forming a double parallelogram. They can be swung outwards and downwards or upwards with respect to their horizontal mid-position by means of a hydraulic cylinder (18). The wheeled chassis is also equipped with a turntable (5) which can rotate about its vertical axis (4) and on which the support element (7) is mounted in such a way that it can rotate about a horizontal axis (6) and be adjusted.
