An actuating mechanism 5 for window and door locks or the like is improved - with a mechanism housing 6 attachable to the end face of the wing or frame and fastenable thereto, - with an operating handle 7 mounted rotatably in the mechanism housing 6 and intended for a pinion 8, - with two toothed pieces 12 and 13 which are oppositely guided in the mechanism housing 6 so as to be longitudinally slidable and which mesh with the pinion 8 on diametrically opposite circumferential sides, and - with driving tabs 14 or 15 which project at the rear from each toothed piece 12 and 13 and which protrude through a slot in a baseplate connected releasably to the mechanism housing 6, - on the one hand the mechanism housing 6 being designed symmetrically in relation to a transverse plane 20-20 passing through the axis of rotation 19 of the operating handle 7, and - on the other the mechanism housing 6 being designed asymmetrically in the transverse direction in relation to a plane of movement 22-22 of the driving tabs 14 and 15 which is determined by the slot of the baseplate. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein Betätigungsgetriebe 5 für Fenster- und Türverschlüsse o. dgl. verbessert mit einem auf die Stirnfläche des Flügels oder Rahmens aufsetzbaren und daran befestigbaren Getriebegehäuse 6, mit einem im Getriebegehäuse 6 drehbar gelagerten Bedienungshandgriff 7 für ein Ritzel 8, mit zwei im Getriebegehäuse 6 gegenläufig längsschiebbar geführten und an diametral gegenüberliegenden Umfangsseiten mit dem Ritzel 8 kämmenden Zahnstücken 12 und 13 und mit rückseitig von jedem Zahnstück 12 und 13 abstehenden sowie durch einen Schlitz in einer lösbar mit dem Getriebegehäuse 6 verbundenen Bodenplatte herausragenden Mitnehmerlappen 14 oder 15, wobei das Getriebegehäuse 6 einerseits zu einer durch die Drehachse 19 des Bedienungshandgriffs 7 gelegten Querebene 20-20 symmetrisch gestaltet ist und wobei das Getriebegehäuse 6 andererseits bezüglich einer vom Schlitz der Bodenplatte bestimmten Bewegungsebene 22-22 der Mitnehmerlappen 14 und 15 - in Querrichtung - unsymmetrisch ausgeführt ist. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
