[origin: EP0492205A2] The discharge vessel (2) of the metal-halide high-pressure discharge lamp (1) for stage, film and television lighting systems and for projection engineering and effect lighting contains hafnium and/or zirconium as metals for the metal halides. Optimum results are achieved if the filling comprises 0.02 to 6 mg per ml of the vessel volume when hafnium is used and 0.01 to 4 mg per ml of the vessel volume when zirconium is used. These metals produce an improved red reproduction, with an R9 greater than, or equal to, 50. <IMAGE>
