Abstract (en)

The means of temporary protection of bare silver surfaces or silver-alloy surfaces against tarnishing contains, as hydrophobic inhibitor, a long-chain aliphatic compound having at least 12 carbon atoms in the chain, namely a thiol or an esterification product thereof, water and a water-soluble emulsifier used to emulsify the inhibitor in the water, and it is adjusted to a pH of 1 to 10. The means is also suitable for passivating surfaces made of copper and copper alloys.

Mittel zum zeitweiligen Schutz von blanken Silberoberflächen oder Silberlegierungsoberflächen gegen Anlaufen, welches als hydrophoben Inhibitor eine langkettige aliphatische Verbindung mit mindestens 12 C-Atomen in der Kette, nämlich ein Thiol oder ein Veresterungsprodukt davon, Wasser und einen wasserlöslichen Emulgator enthält, mit dessen Hilfe der Inhibitor in dem Wasser emulgiert ist, und auf einen pH-Wert von 1 bis 10 eingestellt ist. Das Mittel eignet sich auch zum Passivieren von Oberflächen aus Kupfer und Kupferlegierungen.
