The glazing unit comprises glazing 1 and a frame 2 surrounding the glazing 1, the frame 2 possessing, as a special feature, joining faces 7 flat on all sides and having a peripheral groove 8 therein for receiving connecting wedges 9. Such glazing units can be connected to one another very easily and fixed in a masonry opening. The glazing unit according to the invention is suitable in particular also for a modular construction system. Sets comprising a plurality of glazing units as well as profiled strips 10 and supports 11 permit the formation of complete windows or window walls. The invention reduces and simplifies the mounting work and provides the possibility of creating glazing units not, as hitherto, stepwise at the site, but at the factory itself. In addition, the invention provides the possibility of easy dismounting and, optionally, rearrangement. The invention can be used in particular also for glazing with fire-protection filling. <IMAGE>

Die Verglasungseinheit umfaßt eine Verglasung 1 und einen die Verglasung 1 umgebenden Rahmen 2, wobei der Rahmen 2 als Besonderheit allseits ebene Anschlußflächen 7 besitzt und darin eine umlaufende Nut 8 zur Aufnahme von Verbindungskeilen 9 aufweist. Solche Verglasungseinheiten lassen sich sehr leicht miteinander verbinden sowie in einer Mauerwerksöffnung befestigen. Die erfindungsgemäße Verglasungseinheit eignet sich insbesondere auch für eine Modulbauweise. Bausätze aus mehreren Verglasungseinheiten sowie Profilleisten 10 und Stützen 11 erlauben die Bildung kompletter Fenster oder Fensterwände. Die Erfindung reduziert und vereinfacht die Montagearbeiten und bietet die Möglichkeit, Verglasungseinheiten nicht wie bisher schrittweise auf der Baustelle zu schaffen, sondern bereits werksseitig herzustellen. Außerdem bietet die Erfindung die Möglichkeit zu einer leichten Demontage und ggf. Neugestaltung. Die Erfindung läßt sich insbesondere auch für Verglasungen mit Brandschutzfüllung nutzen. <IMAGE>
