Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0492755A2] In an ink ribbon cassette which, as an ink ribbon store, uses a supply reel, adaptation to high-speed printers is achieved and the problem of disposal of ink ribbon cassettes is solved in that at least two reel axles (3, 4), which can be driven in rotation, are arranged spaced apart and mounted rotatably on a base plate (1) which is open at the top and bottom. Individual rolls (2, 5) of ink ribbon can be fitted onto said reel axles in that a first ink ribbon guide element (7) is assigned to one reel axle (3, 4), the ink ribbon (6) from a first roll (2) of ink ribbon being guided along the first ink ribbon guide element (7) parallel to the printing path (17) and back onto the second roll (5) of ink ribbon via a second ink ribbon guide element (8), and in that a controllable electric drive motor (9) is arranged in each case on each reel axle (3, 4) on the underside (1a) of the baseplate (1). <IMAGE>
