Apparatus for the thermal treatment of moving yarns, of the type consisting of an insulating enclosure which surrounds a heating unit (1) comprising a longitudinal channel (2), on the inside of which the yarn (5) to be treated passes, means (3, 4) for guiding said yarn (5) being provided upstream and downstream of the oven, characterised in that said channel (2) has a cross-section such that, over some of its length (A), the yarn (5) travels on the inside at a distance from the wall, its rise in temperature being obtained by radiation in this zone, and that, in the remaining part (B), it comes into contact with said wall, the transmission of heat then being obtained by contact (conduction). <IMAGE>

Dispositif pour le traitement thermique de fils en mouvement, du type constitué par une enceinte isolante qui entoure un bloc chauffant (1) comportant un canal longitudinal (2), à l'intérieur duquel passe le fil (5) à traiter, des moyens (3,4) de guidage dudit fil (5) étant prévus en amont et en aval du four, caractérisé en ce que ledit canal (2) a une section telle que sur une partie de sa longueur (A), le fil (5) circule à l'intérieur éloigné de la paroi, son élévation de température étant obtenue par radiation dans cette zone, et que dans la partie (B) restante, il vienne en contact avec ladite paroi, la transmission de chaleur étant alors réalisée par contact (conduction). <IMAGE>
