Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9103958A1] Process and device for aligning and joint processing of limp workpiece layers (4, 104). The workpiece layers (4, 104) to be processed jointly are brought together suspended from endless conveyors (1, 101). In a scanning and aligning station (10) located in the path of the two endless conveyors (1, 101), at least one workpiece layer is removed temporarily from the corresponding endless conveyor, aligned with the other workpiece layer and returned to the endless conveyor in the aligned position. The associated workpiece layers then leave the scanning and aligning station (10) together. The invention makes it easier to fasten clamps (16, 17; 116, 117) for the workpiece layers to the endless conveyors, where they are held by permanent magnets (14; 114) whose magnetic field is temporarily suppressed in the scanning and aligning station (10). Alignment is therefore carried out with minimal friction.
