Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0493712A1] Locking system for a cover (T) of an aperture on a vehicle, having a catch on the cover which, in the catch position, prevents an unintentional opening of the cover. The catch can be locked in the catch position or released by means of a bolt element (V). A control unit (S) to be mounted in the vehicle sends a locking or releasing bolt command (R) to the bolt element as a function of a control signal (B). A portable hand transmitter (H) can emit actuating signals (C). A receiver (E) to be mounted in the vehicle serves for receiving the actuating signals (C) and for transferring these actuating signals as control signals (B) to the control unit, in order to trigger the bolt command. A sensor (F) detects the particular existing position state of the bolt element and, in the locked position state of the catch, transmits a locking signal (Y) to the control unit. After the transfer of the actuating signal, the control unit checks whether the sensor is transmitting the locking signal. In the absence of a locking signal, the control unit transmits a warning signal (H) to a constructional element which is already mounted on the vehicle in any case for other purposes and the actuation of which constitutes a highly conspicuous indication of the warning signal even for a person who operates the hand transmitter from the limit of the range of the hand transmitter. <IMAGE>
