The invention relates to an apparatus (10) for igniting a mixing bed (12) driven in motion, particularly for a mixture comprising iron ore and coke, the combustion of which produces sintering (briquetting) of the ore. This apparatus, comprising a hood (14), beneath which burners (16) are arranged and which is traversed by the mixing bed (12), is characterised in that the burners (16) have axes oriented substantially perpendicularly to the surface of the mixing bed (12), each burner (16) having a gas flow and an air flow which can be adjusted individually, the burners being of the rapid gas ejection velocity type. <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'allumage (10) d'un lit de mélange (12) entraîné en mouvement, notamment d'un mélange comprenant du minerai de fer et du coke dont la combustion produit l'agglomération du minerai. Ce dispositif, comportant une hotte (14), sous laquelle sont disposés des brûleurs (16) et qui est traversée par le lit de mélange (12) est caractérisé en ce que les brûleurs (16) ont des axes orientés sensiblement perpendiculairement à la surface du lit de mélange (12), chaque brûleur (16) ayant un débit de gaz et un débit d'air réglable individuellement, les brûleurs étant du type à vitesse d'éjection de gaz rapide. <IMAGE>
