[origin: EP0495176A2] The surfactant ingredient in detergent powders nowadays is mainly composed of petrochemical-based surfactants; the biodegradability and the ecotoxicity usually do not correspond to those surfactants based on natural raw materials. A mixture for detergent powders which contains a very high content of surfactants from renewable raw materials is therefore proposed; the washing results and biodegradability are surprising and outstanding. The mixture according to the invention is composed of alkyl polyglycosides with degrees of glycosidation of </= 1.4 as well as anionic surfactant, fatty alcohol oxethylates and soap.
