[origin: EP0495234A1] The set-open arm (1) for a wing of a window, door or the like has a sliding piece (2) of U-shaped cross-section for longitudinally displaceable reception in a wing fitting groove (4) undercut by means of transverse webs (5). The sliding piece (2) is equipped in its flange (7) with a coupling orifice (12) for the collar stud (28) of the set-open arm (1) and interacts with a fixed stop piece (3) in order to limit the tilt-open width of the wing. The end tilt-open width is fixed by an additional security device which consists of a spring-steel band (16) arranged on the flange (7) of the sliding piece (2) and having catch noses (21) and of corresponding catch bosses (32) on the stop piece (3). In order to obtain an improved degree of safety of the additional security device, especially also where small end tilt-open widths of the wing are concerned, the spring-steel band (16) is bent in a U-shaped manner from its fastening region on the flange (7) in the direction of the free end of the sliding piece (2), to form two spring tongues (20) carrying the catch noses (21). At the opposite end, the spring-steel band (16) is extended beyond the coupling orifice (12) of the sliding piece (2) and is provided with a recess (26) for preventing the collar stud (25) of the set-open arm (1) from coming loose. For this, the coupling orifice (12) in the sliding piece (2) has a widening (14), and the recess (26) of the spring-steel band (16) arranged in the region of this widening (14) has a larger cross-section than the diameter of the collar (30) of the collar stud (28) and is made closed on its circumference, whilst a bead (27) can be arranged on the edge of the recess (26). <IMAGE>
