[origin: EP0495737A1] Ski brake comprising two pivoting branches on either side of the edges of the ski. According to the invention, it comprises at least one piece (10, 18, 24, 26, 30, 36, 42, 47) forming a lock, intended to act on at least one branch (8, 80), an extension (13, 15) of a branch, or a member (14) for controlling a branch in order, once the boot is removed from the assembly, the binding branch thus normally released, to hold the latter in an inactive position while the rod of the element forms a certain angle with the longitudinal axis of the ski following a pivoting parallel to the upper face of the ski.
