[origin: WO9119606A1] A method for enhancing the strength of glass containers is presented wherein the containers are preheated to 500 DEG C and coated with the strength enhancement coating within six (6) hours after the heat treatment. In one embodiment, a coating station (26) for the strength enhancing coating is located between the exit from a lehr (18) and a cold end spray station (20). In a second embodiment, the strength enhancing coating station (26) is positioned downstream of the cold end station (20).

Procédé servant à accroître la résistance de récipients en verre. Les récipients sont préchauffés à 500 °C et recouverts d'une matière renforçant leur résistance dans les six (6) heures qui suivent le traitement à chaud. Dans un mode de réalisation, une unité pour le revêtement (26) avec la matière renforçant la résistance se trouve entre la sortie d'une galerie de recuisson (18) et une unité de pulvérisation finale à froid (20). Dans un deuxième mode de réalisation, l'unité de revêtement avec la matière renforçant la résistance (26) est située en aval de l'unité de pulvérisation finale à froid (20).
