[origin: EP0496668A1] The subject of the invention are directional electroacoustic transducers, and methods and devices for manufacturing them. A transducer according to the invention comprises a case (2) composed of a cylindrical wall (16) and a bottom (17) which is separated from the wall by slots (19a, 19b) which are closed off by a deformable membrane (20) held by a disc (21). The case is closed by a flexible diaphragm (4) which is integral with a metal flange (5) and with a threaded sleeve (7), into which a connecting cable penetrates. The cavity (23) inside the case is filled with oil which is held at a pressure equal to that of the exterior. The mounting of the parts is carried out within an oil bath. One application is the construction of hydrophones having a very high directivity in one direction. <IMAGE>
