Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0496914A1] The covering element serves to cover stair treads which require renovation and has a substantially L-shaped angle section bar (1), one leg (2) of which is designed to rest on the tread (3) and for secure connection to the latter, and the other leg (4) of which runs parallel to the front face (3.1) of the tread (3). A holding profile strip (5) provided with undercuts is attached to the side facing away from the tread (3) in the connecting region of the two legs (2, 4). The covering element additionally has a step cover (6) and a face panel (7) covering the face (3.1) of the tread (3), which are both overlapped at their mutually adjoining edge by the holding profile strip (5). Attached to the leg (4), running parallel to the front face (3.1) of the tread (3), of the angle section bar (1) is a counter-bar (8) which is vertically adjustable perpendicularly to the tread (3) and is provided, at its bottom edge facing away from the angle section bar (1), on the one hand with a holding web (9) which projects towards the side facing away from the tread and overlaps the second edge of the face panel (7). On the other hand, the counter-bar (8) carries a clamping strip (10) which covers the underside of the tread (3) and, with its face directed towards the riser (11), bears against a masking strip (12) arranged in front of the riser (11).
