[origin: EP0497116A2] In a broadcast receiver having a device for decoding radio data signals, which are divided into groups having in each case a predetermined number of bits and which contain a programme identification code, and having a device for switching over from the received frequency to an alternative frequency, several data samples are taken from various groups and at various times within the groups of the radio data signal which is received by means of the alternative frequency by short-time operations of switching over to the alternative frequency.
