[origin: WO9106965A1] The invention concerns the establishment of an electrical connection for the supply of a switching current between one end (2) of a connector wire (1) and a contact piece (7) mounted on a contact support (3), contact being established through a hole (4) in the contact support (3). In order to simplify production of this kind of contact, the invention calls for one end (2) of the wire to be joined to an extension (10) formed by a stamping procedure in which the hole (4) in the contact support (3) is utilized as a tool to shape the extension (10). This ensures that the dimensions of the extension (10) match in optimum fashion the dimensions of the hole (4). In addition, the fact that the extension (10) is formed in the hole (4) itself makes it unnecessary for the end of the wire carrying the extension (10) to be positioned relative to the contact support (3) or the hole (4) in it. The process is of particular use in the production of connections for switchgear and relays.
