[origin: EP0498171A2] To improve centrifugal spinning, the build-up of the cake (9) on the inner wall (8) of the spinning centrifuge (7) takes place in layers which respectively overlap one another at their ends with an increasing cake thickness, in that, starting from an initial stroke of a yarn guide causing the yarn (2) to be dposited into the spinning centrifuge (7), the stroke of the yarn guide is increased with a growing cake thickness. The lengthening of stroke for each layer can amount to a specific number of yarn thicknesses, for example three yarn thicknesses. The last layer of the cake (9) is advantageously terminated on the inner wall (8) of the spinning centrifuge (7), for example at the location (25). <IMAGE>
